F&H has developed a long-term professional relationship with Laurel Regional Hospital (LRH) providing specialized mechanical, electrical and structural engineering design for many of the hospital’s renovation projects. For approximately thirty years LRH relied on our engineering services. A summarized list of projects that our firm has completed for Laurel Regional Hospital is listed below.


Emergency Department: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for renovation of the existing emergency department. Structural details were also developed for this project.


Cardiology Department: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for conversion of an existing shell space and renovation of an existing area into a Cardiology department.


MIS Department: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for an existing suite. An air conditioning system was added in order to maintain the space temperature for proper operation of the electronic equipment within this room.


Laboratory Renovations: Design of mechanical and electrical system for renovation of the existing laboratories including blood bank, histology dept., etc. A new central air handling unit with was added to serve this area. Structural engineering services were performed for supporting the air handling unit located on the existing roof.


Y2K: Design of the electrical system for addition of the second emergency generator.


Behavioral Health Unit: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for conversion of the existing 15,000 sq. ft. patient area to Behavioral Health unit consisting of the patient rooms, nurse station, etc. Central station air handling unit with chilled and heating water supply from the central plant were added to serve this area.


Finance Department: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for conversion of an existing storage space to a finance department.


Wound Care Center: Preparation of mechanical, electrical and structural drawings for conversion of an existing free standing building into a wound care center.


Obstetrics Renovation: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for addition of the C-Section operating room and renovation of the existing delivery rooms and nursery department.


Radiology: Design of the mechanical and electrical system for the radiology dept.
