Paint Branch Golf Complex

Discipline:

College Park, Maryland

Square Footage:

Golf Course

The project consisted of the site lighting and extension of electrical power to the golf storge area for the addition of the power outlets new serving the new and  golf carts. The site lighting included the driving range, green practice area, parking lot and driveway leading to the club house.

Some of the features of the project are as follows:

Design of LED lighting for the driving range, green practice area, parking lot and driveway.

Performance of several lighting calculations for conformance with the illumination requirements for the golf course standards. Several versions of the lighting calculations were shared with the owner for the preferred selection.

Perfomance of lighting calculations to prevent lighting spill over into the adjacent residential area and major highway causing lighting pollution.

The structural support of the 40 ft. height light poles serving the driving range.

Performance of the electrical load demand calculations to verify that there is adequate existing spare electric capacity for the addition of the new power and lighting to the existing electric service.

The main challenge with this project entailed performance of several lighting photometric calculations to provide the required illumination for the golf course, driveway and parking lot without affecting the adjacent residential neighborhood and major highway.
